K. Edward Copeland is a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who has been blessed with several gifts and skills. He is a musician, composer, preacher, attorney and author. He is most widely known, however, for his God-given gift to teach the Bible with clarity and simplicity. He is the author of Riding in the Second Chariot, a guide for ministers and church leaders and a contributing author to Entrusted with the Gospel by Crossway. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois (B.A. 1984), University of California-Berkeley (J.D. 1987), Golden Gate Theological Seminary (M.Div. 1992), and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (D.Min. 2017). Nationally, he serves as a council member for the Gospel Coalition and a workshop leader for the Simeon Trust. He has been a lecturer for national conventions, district associations, and conferences throughout the United States and across denominational lines. He is a trainer and advisor with the National Network for Safe Neighborhoods. He is also an independent consultant and trainer with Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice. Dr. Copeland has served as senior pastor of New Zion Church in Rockford, Illinois for the past 18 years where he lives with his bride of 30 years, Starla, and their three children.
